چکیده

The antifungal activity of secondary lichen metabolites extracted by means acetone and ethanol from Cetraria islandica, Cladonia mitis, C. rangiferina, Pseudevernia furfuracea Usnea dasopoga on the pathogenic fungi Fusarium oxysporum F. avenacuem was examined. compounds tested after their mixture with PDA medium before solidification. most active extracts inhibiting growth fungal mycelia contained fumarprotocetraric, salazinic usnic acids, atranorin. Unparalleled demonstrated an extract mixed islandica P. thalli, which accelerated avenaceum compared control test ethanol. rate two representatives strongly inhibited both alcoholic mitis more than thalli terricolous taxa. A dose 1 ml added to had no significant effect fungi; it indicates usefulness as a solvent for some in this type experiment.

Antagonistic Effect of Nonpathogenic Fusarium oxysporum Fo47 and Pseudobactin 358 upon Pathogenic Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi.

Pseudobactin production by Pseudomonas putida WCS358 significantly improves biological control of fusarium wilt caused by nonpathogenic Fusarium oxysporum Fo47b10 (P. Lemanceau, P. A. H. M. Bakker, W. J. de Kogel, C. Alabouvette, and B. Schippers, Appl. Environ. Microbiol. 58:2978-2982, 1992). The antagonistic effect of Fo47b10 and purified pseudobactin 358 was studied by using an in vitro bioa...

Multilocus phylogenetic diversity of Fusarium avenaceum pathogenic on lisianthus.

Fusarium avenaceum is a globally distributed fungus commonly isolated from soil and a wide range of plants. Severe outbreaks of crown and stem rot of the flowering ornamental, lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum), have been attributed to F. avenaceum. We sequenced portions of the translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef) and beta-tubulin (benA) protein coding genes as well as partial intergenic ...

The Mitotic Apparatus in Fungi, Ceratocystis Fagacearum and Fusarium Oxysporum

Vegetative nuclei of fungi Ceratocystis fagacearum and Fusarium oxysporum were studied both in the living condition with phase-contrast microscopy and after fixation and staining by HCl-Giemsa, aceto-orcein, and acid fuchsin techniques. Nucleoli, chromosomes, centrioles, spindles, and nuclear envelopes were seen in living hyphae of both fungi. The entire division process occurred within an inta...

Influence of Carbohydrates on Secondary Metabolism in Fusarium avenaceum

Fusarium avenaceum is a widespread pathogen of important crops in the temperate climate zones that can produce many bioactive secondary metabolites, including moniliformin, fusarin C, antibiotic Y, 2-amino-14,16-dimethyloctadecan-3-ol (2-AOD-3-ol), chlamydosporol, aurofusarin and enniatins. Here, we examine the production of these secondary metabolites in response to cultivation on different ca...

Biosynthesis of Gold Nanoparticles Using Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense JT1, a Plant Pathogenic Fungus

The development of reliable processes for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles is an important aspect of current nanotechnology research. Recently, reports are published on the extracellular as well as intracellular biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles using microorganisms. However, these methods of synthesis are rather slow. In present study, rapid and extracellular synthesis of gold nanoparticle...
